MARYLAND DEPARMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES: Maryland Hunter Safety Education Class Offered

Maryland Department of Natural Resources issued the following announcement on Sept. 20.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will offer a Hunter Safety Education Class on Oct. 1, 2, and 5 at Herrington Manor State Park, Oakland. Classes on Oct. 1-2 will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Oct. 5 class runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each class is limited to 30 students.

The three-day course will consist of classroom sessions, a field practical and a live-firing practical. A written test will be given at the end of the course. Participants must attend all three sessions, pass the written test and field exercises, and be recommended by the instructor, based upon attitude, maturity, and skills in order to successfully pass the class.

An adult must accompany students under the age of 13. Registration can be done online or by contacting Clarissa Harris at clarissa.harris1@maryland.gov or 301-777-2136.
