Silver Spring home prices rise in the second quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2017 in Silver Spring rose by $27,000 while total sales increased by 7.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2017, there were 204 homes sold, with a median sale price of $515,750 - a 5.5% increase over the $488,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 190 homes sold in Silver Spring in the second quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Silver Spring for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $5,050, approximately 1% of the median home sale price for the second quarter of 2017.
