Silver Spring home prices fall in the first quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2017 in Silver Spring fell by $20,658 while total sales increased by 47.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2017, there were 155 homes sold, with a median sale price of $469,342 - a 4.2% decrease over the $490,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 105 homes sold in Silver Spring in the first quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Silver Spring for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $5,050, approximately 1.1% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2017.
