The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland has unsealed an indictment against Jackson Traylor, a 26-year-old resident of Dania Beach, Florida. Traylor is charged with one count of using a telecommunications device without revealing his identity to abuse, threaten, or harass.
Kelly O. Hayes, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, made the announcement alongside Acting Special Agent in Charge Amanda M. Koldjeski from the FBI's Baltimore Field Office.
According to public filings, Traylor allegedly sent over ten antisemitic and harassing messages to a Jewish individual originally from Maryland between July 9, 2024, and April 10, 2025. The messages included statements such as “Go burn in an oven like your ancestors” and “Burn in a god damn oven . . . . Stupid jew.”
If convicted, Traylor could face up to two years in federal prison. However, actual sentences for federal crimes are often less than the maximum penalties due to considerations by a federal district court judge who takes into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
It is important to note that an indictment is not an indication of guilt; individuals charged by indictment are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court proceeding.
U.S. Attorney Hayes praised the FBI for its investigative work on this case and expressed gratitude towards Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Sarma for prosecuting the case.
