Rep. Glenn Ivey raises concerns about national parks history and Medicaid challenges

Rep. Glenn Ivey, who represents Maryland’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of national issues through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.

On July 23, 2025, Ivey expressed concern over changes to the National Park Service's approach to historical interpretation, stating: "National Parks are more than scenic views, they’re a promise to future generations to protect truth, history, and nature. Now, the Administration is pressuring the Park Service to scrub references to slavery and the Black experience, while House Republicans auction off our".

In another post dated July 24, 2025, Ivey commented on Medicaid’s evolution and current challenges: "Medicaid has come a long way in 60 years, from covering the most vulnerable to becoming a cornerstone of our health system. Now, it faces serious challenges. I am honored to join @SenatorATW and Delegates Ashanti Martinez and Nicole Williams in Greenbelt on Wednesday, July 30,".

Later that same day, Ivey addressed recent legal developments involving Kilmar Abrego Garcia: "Federal judges have now confirmed that Kilmar Abrego Garcia is not the ‘flight risk’ the Trump administration portrayed him to be. Their rulings reinforce that the rule of law and due process are finally being upheld in this case—fairness is prevailing, and our constitutional".

Ivey has represented Maryland’s 4th district since replacing Anthony Brown in 2023. He previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly at age 62, Ivey holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
