Comptroller of Maryland issued the following announcement on June 18.
Comptroller Franchot presented a proclamation to Hero Dogs, a nonprofit that raises, trains and places service dogs and other highly-skilled canines for free with military veterans with lifetime support. Hero Dogs also trains dogs to help in group therapeutic settings at residential facilities, hospitals and hospice care centers to improve the mental and spiritual health of the patients. Hero Dogs has more than 100 active volunteers.
