FREDERICK COUNTY: The City of Frederick, Frederick County Government & Fort Detrick To Host September 11 Tribute

Frederick County issued the following announcement on Aug. 29.

In commemoration of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, The City of Frederick, Frederick County Government and Fort Detrick will jointly host a September 11 Tribute at noon on Tuesday, September 11. The “Patriot Day” ceremony will take place in the first floor hearing room of Winchester Hall, 12 East Church Street, Frederick. The public, media, employees, emergency responders and military personnel from the three government organizations are invited to attend the ceremony to remember the heroes of the attacks on the World Trade Center towers in New York City and on the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., as well as those brave men and women whose lives were lost in a plane crash in Western Pennsylvania to avert another attack. The September 11 Tribute will also be broadcast live on FCG TV, cable channel 19, and webcast at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/video. The City of Frederick will rebroadcast the ceremony on cable channel 99. Citizens are encouraged to submit their memories, reflections and heartfelt appreciation to the heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty on September 11, 2001, on the Facebook page titled, “September 11 Tribute – Frederick County, MD.”
