The Calvert County Board of Appeals has scheduled the following cases for public hearing at the times listed below on Thursday, August 2, 2018 in the Commissioners Hearing Room in the Calvert County Circuit Courthouse, located at 175 Main Street, Prince Frederick, Maryland. Entire case files are available for review by contacting the Board of Appeals staff in the Department of Planning & Zoning.

Cases Scheduled for 9:00 A.M.:

Case No. 18-3948: Jason & Nichole Badstibner have applied for Special Exception approval for a Class II Home Occupation to operate a home office for a waxing studio with on-site customer appointments. The subject property is located at 415 Avalon Court, Prince Frederick (Tax Map 24, Parcel 795, College Station, Lot 60R) and is zoned Rural Community District (RCD). APPROVED 3-0

Case No. 18-3950: Giorgio & Ashley DiPietri have applied for a variance in side setback requirements from 30’ to 3’ to construct a 24’ x 36’ detached garage with storage above. The subject property is located at 7650 Lake Shore Drive, Owings (Tax Map 10, Parcel 244, Lot 32, Victoria Station) and is zoned Rural Community District (RCD). APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS 3-0

Case No. 18-3951: Eleanor Long Crawford & John Crawford have applied for Critical Area variance approval to construct a 5’ x 12’ deck on the front of an existing dwelling and a 10’ x 25’ deck on the rear of the same dwelling within the 100’ buffer. APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS 3-0

Case No. 18-3952: Anne Remy has applied for Critical Area variance approval to exceed lot coverage limits of 2825 s.f. by adding 1320 s.f. for a patio/driveway, with resulting total lot coverage of 3270 s.f. The subject property is located at 5211 Beach Dr., Chesapeake Beach (Tax Map 16B, Holiday Beach) and is zoned Residential District/Limited Development Area (RD/LDA). DECISION DEFERRED FOR UP TO 6 MONTHS

Case No. 18-3953: Patricia & Roland Cumor have applied for Critical Area variance approval for construction of an attached garage with second story living space with a total area coverage of 20’ x 40’ within the 100’ Buffer. The subject property is located at 353 Deer Drive, Lusby (Tax Map 45A, Lot 14, Section 23, Drum Point) and is zoned Residential District/Limited Development Area (RD/LDA). APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS 3-0

Case No. 18-3954: William Moher has applied for variance approval to reduce the front setback along Locust Grove Road from 25’ to ~10’ for expansion of a non-conforming deck. The subject property is located at 5502 Colonial Drive, Chesapeake Beach (Tax Map 16, Parcel 46, Lots 22, 23 & Tri Lt, Locust Grove) and is zoned Residential District/Limited Development Area (RD/LDA). APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS 3-0
