Calvert County Board of County Commissioners met Oct. 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the commissioners:

1. Staff from the Department of Communications & Media Relations provided a demonstration of the new Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter website, Facebook, and Instagram sites. These sites have been developed to promote the shelter, the animals available for adoption, and services offered.

2. Appointed Kimberly Owens to the Economic Development Advisory Commission.

3. Approved the amended by-laws for the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council and authorized the Board President to sign the document on behalf of the Board.

4. Held a public hearing to receive public comment on realignment of General Obligation Bond revenues and bond premium from the Southern Connector Road project and PF Loop RD – Mae Bowen project, closed the record, and directed staff to return for action following the 10-day waiting period to request the Board’s approval of a budget adjustment in the amount of $324,979.

5. Held a work session to review and discuss geometric safety improvements to Little Cove Point Road and directed staff to proceed with the project.

6. Attended the dedication ceremony for The Legacy of the Skipjack, celebrating this public art project created by the Arts Council for Calvert County for the Circuit Court of Calvert County, funded by the Maryland State Arts Council and private donations.

7. Attended the ribbon cutting of the Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter, located at 5055 Hallowing Point
