ANNE ARUNDEL COMMUNITY COLLEGE: AACC’s policy requiring masks in all AACC buildings

Anne Arundel Community College issued the following announcement on Feb. 17.

The recent announcements by Anne Arundel County Public Schools as well as changes at the state and county levels may raise questions about AACC’s policy requiring masks in all AACC buildings.

At this time, we are not removing the mask requirement at AACC. As we have stated before, the college will continue to make its own decisions regarding face coverings that may exceed state and local requirements. To date we have relied heavily on CDC guidelines, especially for issues that have not been addressed or mandated at the county or state levels. It is our understanding that the CDC will be updating its recommendations for indoor masking soon, so we will continue to monitor and reevaluate our masking protocols during the spring term in relation to CDC guidance.

We also are determining our plans for summer and fall. We thank you for your continued patience and commitment to the health and safety of our community.
