Rep. Glenn Ivey, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 4th district, has been active on social media addressing both community service and political issues. In a series of tweets, he shared his involvement in Martin Luther King Jr. Day activities and expressed criticism of recent actions by former President Donald Trump and House Republicans.

On January 21, Rep. Ivey referenced a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., stating: "Dr. King once said, 'Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'' In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, I joined several organizations in Maryland's Fourth Congressional District to carry on Dr. King’s call for service and community."

The following day, January 22, Rep. Ivey criticized actions taken by Donald Trump during his presidency: "Donald Trump spent his first day in office freeing hundreds of violent felons who attacked law enforcement on January 6. Instead of standing up for our police, House Republicans are standing with Trump and supporting pardons for these criminals." He further elaborated on the issue by mentioning a specific case involving DJ Rodriguez: "DJ Rodriguez tased a police officer so many times he suffered a heart attack. President Trump, with the full support of House Republicans, just released this violent felon from prison."
