Steny Hoyer, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 5th district, has expressed his commitment to reproductive rights and legislative collaboration in recent social media posts. On January 22, 2025, Hoyer shared his views on reproductive freedom and women's rights through two tweets. The following day, he discussed meeting with colleagues as part of Maryland's Congressional Delegation.

In a tweet posted on January 22, Hoyer expressed pride in Maryland's initiatives to protect reproductive freedom. He stated, "I am proud of the steps Maryland has taken to protect reproductive freedom, and I remain committed to restoring the right for women to make their own reproductive health decisions."

On the same day, Hoyer reflected on historical changes in women's rights since a landmark Supreme Court decision over five decades ago. He remarked that despite past progress, current circumstances have regressed: "52 years ago, the Supreme Court guaranteed women the Constitutional right to an abortion. Today, women have fewer rights than their predecessors, to devastating effect."

The following day on January 23, Hoyer highlighted his participation in Maryland's first Congressional Delegation meeting of the new Congress session. In this tweet he said: "Great to meet with #TeamMaryland for our first Congressional Delegation meeting of the 119th Congress. We have a robust & effective delegation & I look forward to working closely with our new Members to benefit the people we represent in Maryland & throughout the country."
