Steny Hoyer, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland's 5th district, recently shared his perspectives on key issues through social media. Hoyer, who has been in office since 1981 after succeeding Gladys Spellman, continues to engage with critical national and international matters.

On March 5, 2025, Hoyer expressed concern about the pause in intelligence-sharing between the United States and Ukraine. He described this development as "the latest betrayal by the Trump Administration toward our courageous ally." Hoyer emphasized the necessity for continued support to Ukraine to ensure its defense against Russia and achieve victory.

Later that day, Hoyer announced his participation in re-introducing a significant legislative measure. He stated, "Today, I am proud to join @RepTerriSewell in re-introducing the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, which I proudly brought to the Floor and worked to pass as Majority Leader in the 117th Congress." This effort is part of honoring John Lewis's legacy through legislative action.
