Rep. Glenn Ivey, a current U.S. Congress member representing Maryland's Fourth District, recently took to social media to communicate with his constituents about upcoming events and legislative concerns. His series of tweets covered topics ranging from local town hall meetings to criticisms of the House Republican budget.

On March 12, 2025, Rep. Ivey announced an upcoming town hall meeting scheduled to take place at Suitland High School Auditorium in Forestville, Maryland. He stated that the event would discuss the latest updates for Maryland’s Fourth Congressional District. In his words: "Less than a week from today, my office will be hosting a townhall at Suitland High School Auditorium (5200 Silver Hill Road, Forestville, MD 20747) to discuss the latest updates for Maryland’s Fourth Congressional District."

Later that day, Ivey expressed his disapproval of the House Republican budget proposal on Twitter. He outlined potential negative impacts on his constituents who rely on government-funded programs such as the Affordable Care Act and SNAP: "The House Republican budget is an absolute rip-off on MD-04... If passed, it would: Have detrimental effects on my constituents who rely on government-funded programs..."

In another tweet posted on March 12th, Ivey addressed concerns regarding federal employees affected by what he described as "illegal cuts" made by the Trump administration to the federal workforce. He emphasized their crucial role in maintaining governmental operations: "My district is home to thousands of federal employees... Federal employees hold the foundation of how our government operates together & without them our American..."
