Steny Hoyer, a long-serving U.S. Congressman representing Maryland's 5th district, shared his views on various policy proposals through recent tweets. As a key figure in the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Hoyer expressed concerns about potential changes to healthcare coverage and international aid.

On March 12, 2025, Hoyer criticized former President Trump's proposal to shorten the enrollment period for ACA coverage. He stated, "Trump's proposal to shorten the enrollment period for #ACA coverage undermines millions of American families’ access to life-saving care." He emphasized his role in leading the ACA's passage as Majority Leader and reiterated his commitment to safeguarding and expanding the law.

Later that day, Hoyer commented on The Heritage Foundation's proposal regarding Israel. On March 12, he tweeted that "The Heritage Foundation's proposal to end aid to Israel is wrong, dangerous, and gives comfort to those who seek its' destruction." He underscored the importance of continued support for Israel to maintain regional security.

On March 13, 2025, Hoyer posted a tweet simply containing an emoji with two links: " https://t.co/h6uyMildfE https://t.co/Un5tiyJQ4K". The content of these links was not detailed in his message.
