Maryland Congressman Glenn Ivey discusses sports triumphs and political accountability

Rep. Glenn Ivey, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland's 4th district since 2023, shared his thoughts on recent events through a series of tweets. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961, Ivey is an alumnus of Princeton University and Harvard Law School. His professional journey includes service in the Maryland House of Representatives before succeeding Anthony Brown in Congress.

On March 25, 2025, Rep. Ivey commented on the conclusion of Florida's successful year by expressing support for the Maryland Terps' men's and women's teams. He stated: "Hey @RepDWStweets Florida has had a great year BUT……The season is over! The Maryland Terps are here to take the win— women and men’s team. Go Terps! "

Later that day, he announced his participation alongside fellow representatives Steny Hoyer, Mark Pocan, Sanford Bishop, and MGP in urging Subcommittee Chair David Joyce to hold an oversight hearing regarding the U.S. DOGE Service with Elon Musk as a witness. Ivey tweeted: "Today, I joined my colleagues @RepStenyHoyer, @RepMarkPocan, Rep. Sanford Bishop, and @RepMGP on a letter to Subcommittee Chair David Joyce to demand he hold an oversight hearing on the U.S. DOGE Service and call on Elon Musk to testify."

In another post on March 25th, Rep. Ivey addressed President Trump and House Republicans concerning their stance towards the judiciary branch: "I guess President Trump and my House Republican colleagues need a reminder: The judiciary is a co-equal branch of our federal government." He emphasized that political attacks undermine both judicial authority and democratic principles.
