Rep. Glenn Ivey discusses national security concerns and celebrates local achievements

Rep. Glenn Ivey, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland's 4th district, shared his thoughts on various topics through a series of tweets posted on March 24 and 25, 2025. These tweets reflect his concerns about national security, celebrate local sports achievements, and advocate for equal pay.

On March 24, Rep. Ivey expressed strong concern over an unspecified incident that he deemed reckless and dangerous. He emphasized the potential risks to national security by stating: "This is simply unacceptable. This type of mistake is not just reckless and dangerous, but it also puts our national security at risk."

Later that day, Rep. Ivey celebrated a local sports achievement with enthusiasm. He congratulated the University of Maryland's basketball team for advancing to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament. His tweet read: "What a game over the weekend! Congratulations to @TerrapinHoops for making it to the Sweet 16. I am honored to represent a district full of phenomenal student-athletes, past and present! Wishing the Women's team the best of luck ahead of this evening's game! Go Terps! "

On March 25, Rep. Ivey highlighted Equal Pay Day by advocating for gender pay equality. He stated: "On Equal Pay Day, we remind the world: Women deserve equal pay for equal work. Equal pay is not just the right thing to do—it helps our economy & working families to make ends meet." He praised Prince George’s County as an exception in terms of women's compensation both within Maryland and across the United States.
