Steny Hoyer, a long-serving U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 5th District, shared several messages through his Twitter account recently. These tweets highlight his ongoing political efforts and community engagements.

On March 25, 2025, Hoyer addressed the persistent issue of pay disparity affecting women and families nationwide. He expressed pride in having brought the Paycheck Fairness Act to the House Floor during his tenure as Majority Leader. In his post, he stated, "Disparity in pay continues to impact women & families across the country... Democrats will keep fighting to pass this legislation & to close the gender wage gap."

Later that day, Hoyer shared an enthusiastic tweet celebrating a sports achievement with a simple message: "In the Sweet Sixteen!!" This post was accompanied by two links presumably related to a basketball tournament or event.

On March 26, 2025, Hoyer reminded students about an educational opportunity. He highlighted that the deadline for the #MD05 Black History Month 2025 Essay Competition was approaching. He encouraged eligible high school students to participate and submit their essays by April 1st, 2025. The tweet read: "The deadline for the #MD05 Black History Month 2025 Essay Competition is just a week away..."
