Governor Moore's recent stance against the proposed Business-to-Business (B2B) tax is gaining support from small businesses in Maryland. Mike O’Halloran, the Maryland State Director of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), shared his views on the matter following the Governor's announcement.
O’Halloran stated, "It’s good to hear that small businesses’ strong opposition to this tax has reached the Governor. We’re equally thankful for his voice on this important matter. But the work is not done. Any tax that pushes Maryland further down the list of states to do business in shouldn’t be on the table in any form. Small businesses also remain concerned with a proposed increase to their personal income taxes. Such a hike would adversely impact those owners who file as pass through entities."
To support this opposition, NFIB has initiated a digital and radio advertising campaign. This campaign is designed to raise awareness and increase resistance to proposed tax hikes that could affect small businesses. The NFIB is motivating small business owners to actively engage with legislators to halt these tax increases impacting Main Street enterprises.
