Steny Hoyer, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland's 5th district, has taken to Twitter to share his active role in various initiatives and events. Hoyer, an experienced legislator, emphasized his commitment to advocating for individuals with disabilities, honoring fallen heroes, and discussing funding for key programs as part of his congressional duties.

On April 7, Hoyer tweeted about his participation in the Disability Policy Seminar, stating, "Amid attacks on Medicaid and vital programs, I was glad to attend the Disability Policy Seminar today to discuss advocacy & action to support people with disabilities." He affirmed his continued efforts to build on the Americans with Disabilities Act (#ADA) to protect and expand relevant legislation.

The following day, April 8, Hoyer acknowledged the service of firefighters and first responders. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, he shared, "I was honored to join the @NFFF_News Flag Ceremony to remember our fallen heroes." Hoyer expressed gratitude for the bravery and sacrifices of these individuals and their families.

Additionally, on April 8, Hoyer encouraged public participation in a discussion with the Appropriations Democrats regarding fiscal year 2026 funding. He wrote, "Join me and @AppropsDems as we discuss FY2026 funding for the @uscapitol & @librarycongress' key programs, projects, and activities." This discussion focused on ensuring the functionality and fulfillment of legislative and national responsibilities.
