Rep. Glenn Ivey, representing Maryland’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several thoughts and activities through his social media platform. Each post highlights significant moments and stances on political and community issues during the month of April 2025.

On April 15, 2025, Ivey participated in a baby shower at Doctors Community Hospital as part of Black Maternal Health Week. He acknowledged the privilege of celebrating mothers and expectant mothers, emphasizing the necessity for healthcare and community leaders in Prince George’s County to unify in overcoming the challenges that mothers in the area face. Ivey tweeted, "As Black Maternal Health Week continues, I had the privilege of celebrating mothers and mothers-to-be Doctors Community Hospital’s baby shower. To overcome the challenges that mothers here in Prince George’s County face, healthcare and community leaders must continue to come".

In another post shared the same day, Ivey criticized the actions of the Trump Administration toward universities. He expressed his disapproval of what he perceives to be undue interference by the federal government in the educational domain. In his tweet, he supported Harvard University's stance, noting, "It is beyond shameful that the Trump Administration continues to target universities. The federal government does not get to decide what a university teaches, how its run, and what speech is allowed on campus. I applaud Harvard for standing up."

Later on April 15, Ivey joined colleagues at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, including representatives Chris Van Hollen and Steny Hoyer. The visit was intended to gather insights into the center's contributions to national economic competitiveness and the growth of the American industry. Ivey communicated his experience by stating, "Yesterday, I joined my colleagues @ChrisVanHollen and @RepStenyHoyer Hoyer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center to learn more about the centers impact and contributions to our Nation’s economic competitiveness, through fueling growth in American industry and supporting quality,".

Glenn Ivey has served in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 4th District since 2023, succeeding Anthony Brown. Prior to his congressional career, Ivey served in the Maryland House of Representatives. He was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, in 1961, and currently resides in Cheverly.
