Chesapeake Bay Trust issued the following announcement on July 4.
A group of 16 stakeholders has created a vision and goals for the restoration of oysters in two Eastern Shore rivers. The group, OysterFutures, laid out a list of recommendations for restoring the natural stock of oysters in the Bay while also supporting the communities and industries that depend on them. The success of this project could determine how future restoration efforts work to engage a variety of stakeholders to achieve measurable successes.
