U.S. Representative Glenn Ivey, who serves Maryland’s 4th district in Congress, recently addressed several topics on his social media account, including legislative concerns, community engagement initiatives, and the passing of a notable public figure.
On July 18, 2025, Ivey posted criticism of House Republicans’ recent budget decisions: "House Republicans are gutting PBS Kids, public safety, and health programs—just to please Elon Musk and protect billionaire tax breaks. Working families get nothing. We won’t stand for it."
In a post dated July 21, 2025, Ivey called for student participation in his Youth Advisory Board: "Applications for my Youth Advisory Board are due by August 1st Calling on all students from Maryland's Fourth District enrolled in middle school or high school to apply! See the flyer for further details. Apply Here: https://t.co/GpbhWi8Oyj https://t.co/7yRVyosYbv"
Later that same day, Ivey reflected on the death of actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner: "Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s passing is a heartbreaking loss. As Theo Huxtable, he gave a generation of young Black men a smart, relatable role model on primetime TV. His work on and off screen helped reshape how America sees Black families and how we see ourselves. Rest in power,"
Glenn Ivey has represented Maryland’s 4th congressional district since replacing Anthony Brown in 2023. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Maryland House of Representatives. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly at age 62, Ivey holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
