Maryland Department of Agriculture issued the following announcement on Aug. 11.
This invasive insect seriously threatens a variety of crops and farm operations! The insect has not yet been found in Maryland, but has confirmed populations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Virginia. Stay on the look out for this invasive pest!
If you see it, snap a picture of it, catch it, freeze it in a plastic bag, send it to the Maryland Department of Agriculture, and report it to DontBug.MD@Maryland.gov.
