Allegany High School issued the following announcement on Aug. 26.
The Maryland State Board of Education held a special meeting on Thursday, August 26, 2021, and featured discussion of statewide school masking requirements.
The Maryland State Board of Education has voted for an emergency regulation to require children and adults to wear masks in schools statewide to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
The mandate still will need approval by the Maryland General Assembly’s Joint Committee on Administrative, Executive, and Legislative Review, which typically occurs within 10 days and is in effect for a limited period of time.
