On February 18, 2025, Hoyer highlighted the ongoing situation involving hostages taken by Hamas. "It has been 500 days since Hamas’ brutal attack on Israel. 73 hostages, including 5 Americans, remain in captivity - with their families continuing to live in fear and uncertainty for the future," he stated. He emphasized his commitment to ensuring that all hostages are returned safely.

In another post dated February 19, 2025, Hoyer criticized former President Trump's remarks regarding Ukraine. "President Trump's appalling comments on Ukraine dishonor America," he asserted. He expressed support for President Zelenskyy and those defending Ukraine against aggression.

Continuing his critique of current political actions, on February 20, 2025, Hoyer condemned what he described as illegal dismissals by Elon Musk and Donald Trump. "Make no mistake, these firings are illegal; Musk and Trump are firing dedicated employees," he claimed. He pledged to oppose actions that undermine federal workforce integrity.
