Steny Hoyer, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Maryland's 5th district, recently expressed his support for federal workers through a series of tweets. On February 21, 2025, Hoyer stated: "Federal workers represent the best of us – they’re non-partisan experts and dedicated employees working to deliver for the American people. I’ll continue to stand up against these egregious, illegal attacks on our federal government employees." This tweet highlights his commitment to defending federal workers from what he perceives as unjustified assaults.

In another tweet posted on the same day, Hoyer remarked: "When Musk and Trump target federal workers and civil servants – our nation suffers." Here, he criticizes actions by Elon Musk and Donald Trump that he believes negatively impact public servants.

Further addressing this issue, Hoyer invited feedback from federal employees in a subsequent tweet: "Federal workers, I want to hear from you: Share with my office how Musk and Trump's actions are detrimental for you, your family, and the American people. Our federal workers across the nation make this country great – I’m standing with you." This call for input underscores his intention to advocate for those affected by policies or rhetoric from influential figures.
