Rep. Glenn Ivey addresses education policy changes and honors community leadership

Rep. Glenn Ivey, currently serving Maryland’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared several statements on social media addressing national education policy, local community engagement, and civil rights leadership. Ivey, who replaced Anthony Brown in 2023 and previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives, often uses his platform to comment on issues impacting both his constituents and the nation.

On July 14, 2025, Rep. Ivey commented on proposed changes to federal education policy: "The Department of Education and the federal employees within the agency do important work to make education better. The Trump Administration’s short-sided decision to effectively close the agency will do a disservice to students throughout our nation. Congress can and must".

Later that day, he highlighted his participation in a local youth event: "Over the weekend, I was proud to stand with hometown hero @arr2four and the E.V.O.L.V.E. Glenn Ivey was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and is currently 62 years old. He resides in Cheverly and holds degrees from Princeton University (BA) and Harvard Law School (JD).
