Maryland Administrative Office of the Courts issued the following announcement on Oct. 17.
Approximately 40 participants in the Baltimore City District Court Re-Entry Project (DCREP) will be recognized for their successful completion of the program on Wednesday, October 24, at a ceremony presided by District Judge Nicole Pastore Klein.
Judge Pastore Klein founded the DCREP in 2016 as a court-focused, criminal recidivism initiative offering defendants an opportunity to participate in full-time job training and job placement programs as a condition of their probation or in lieu of incarceration. More than 95 participants have completed the program to date.
The DCREP graduates will be joined by family, friends, judges, and prosecutors. The keynote speaker will be Baltimore-area resident and community activist Greg Harrell, who is a 1991 silver and bronze world bobsled champion, 1992 two-man bobsled Olympian, and former Los Angeles Raiders and San Diego Chargers tight end.
