Maryland Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 27.
It’s National School Choice Week, and we remain committed to ensuring that every single child in Maryland receives a world-class education, regardless of what neighborhood they happen to grow up in.
We owe it to our kids to think more creatively, and we owe it to Maryland families to expand the choices that are available to them. The reality is that there are nearly as many nonpublic schools in Maryland as there are public schools. We must continue to encourage innovative ideas that give parents better alternatives to prepare children for higher education and for the jobs of the future.
