Rep. Glenn Ivey, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Maryland’s 4th district, has recently shared his views on several key issues via social media. Ivey, who replaced Anthony Brown in 2023 and previously served in the Maryland House of Representatives, addressed topics ranging from healthcare to law enforcement and judiciary funding.

On May 14, 2025, Rep. Ivey criticized the approach of "House Republicans and the Trump administration" for proposing significant Medicaid cuts instead of recognizing National Women's Health Week. He emphasized that "House Democrats remain committed to supporting women's access to healthcare" across the United States.

Later that day, Ivey reflected on a legislative milestone by marking the anniversary of his first piece of legislation passed by the House. The bipartisan Recruit and Retain Act was co-led with Rep. Wesley Hunt and signed into law by President Biden. This act aims to bolster law enforcement recruitment efforts, particularly in understaffed departments as noted in his tweet: "One year ago today..."

In another post on May 14, Ivey discussed his participation in a hearing focused on federal judiciary funding. He highlighted Maryland's experience with judicial support and stressed that while financial backing is crucial, it must be complemented by other measures: "But funding alone is not enough."

Glenn Ivey was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and resides in Cheverly. A Princeton University alumnus with a BA earned in 1983, he also holds a JD from Harvard Law School obtained in 1986.
