Maryland Department of General Services issued the following announcement on July 4.
Two hundred and forty-two years ago, the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress. The Declaration of Independence declared that the thirteen original colonies were their own nation and no longer a part of the British Empire.
We celebrate our independence with cook outs, fireworks, and everything red, white, and blue. Whether you are traveling or staying at home, DGS would like to wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July.
