Rep. David Trone addresses key issues: servicemembers' sacrifice and local challenges

Rep. David Trone, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland's 6th district, has been actively engaging with his constituents and addressing key issues through social media. His recent tweets highlight his dedication to honoring servicemembers, tackling affordable housing shortages, and securing disaster funding.

On December 7, 2024, Rep. Trone tweeted about the significance of remembering the sacrifices made by servicemembers on a historic day. He emphasized the importance of honoring those who "answered the call to serve." "Today, we honor the ultimate sacrifice of the servicemembers who were killed on that infamous day. We must always remember the fearless and courageous Americans who answered the call to serve."

On December 9, 2024, he addressed the issue of affordable housing shortages nationwide. In Frederick County, Maryland, efforts are underway to develop affordable housing at the Prospect Center. Rep. Trone mentioned his request for $3 million in funding to support this initiative. "Nationwide, there's a shortage of affordable housing for low-income families. Here in @FredCoGovMD, we're tackling it head-on with a project to develop affordable housing at the Prospect Center. I requested $3 million to ensure everyone in the county has a place to call home."

Later that same day, Rep. Trone expressed his commitment as part of Appropriations Democrats (@AppropsDems) to include critical disaster funding in continuing resolutions (CR) for Baltimore and other communities affected by hurricanes and flooding this year. He acknowledged that Americans are relying on their representatives during these challenging times."As an @AppropsDems, I'm working to include the White House’s request for critical disaster funding in the CR – for Baltimore and the many communities that have suffered from devastating hurricanes and flooding this year. In these final weeks, I know Americans are counting on us."
