Rep. Glenn Ivey, a U.S. Congressman representing Maryland’s 4th district since 2023, recently shared his thoughts on various topics through a series of tweets. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts in 1961 and currently residing in Cheverly, Ivey has a background in law with degrees from Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

On June 2, 2025, Rep. Ivey expressed pride in Prince George's native Frances Tiafoe for advancing to the French Open quarterfinals. He noted that Tiafoe joined Tommy Paul as one of only two American men remaining in the tournament. "I’m proud of Prince George’s own @FTiafoe for powering through in straight sets to reach the French Open quarterfinals! He joins Tommy Paul as one of just two American men left standing. Big win — and bigger moments ahead."

The following day, June 3, 2025, Rep. Ivey reiterated his support for the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month. As a member of the Equality Caucus, he emphasized ongoing efforts to advance LGBTQ+ rights and address challenges faced by the community. "Pride Month is here and I’m proud to stand with the LGBTQ+ community today and every day... We’ve made real progress, but the fight for full equality isn’t over."

Later that day, Rep. Ivey commented on a Supreme Court decision regarding Maryland's assault weapons ban. He viewed this as a significant step toward enhancing public safety and affirmed states' authority to enact measures against gun violence. "The Supreme Court just let Maryland’s assault weapons ban stand—and that’s a big win for public safety."

Glenn Ivey has served in Congress since succeeding Anthony Brown in 2023 after previously serving in the Maryland House of Representatives.
